What is an NBR lined rubber hose assembly?
NBR (Nitrile Butadiene Rubber) lined rubber hose assemblies are a type of flexible hose used as a liner to convey various fluids and materials in industrial applications. NBR is a synthetic rubber compound known for its excellent oil, fuel, and chemical resistance. It's commonly used in applications where exposure to petroleum-based products, mineral oils, and various chemicals is expected. Food grade NBR to FDA 21.CFR.177.2600 is commonly used in hygienic applications for conveyances of fatty foodstuffs such as dairy products and oil based sauces.
These assemblies are constructed with a combination of different materials to ensure the hose's durability, flexibility, and resistance to specific substances. NBR lined rubber hoses provide a straightforward, cost effective and reliable tubing solution for the suction and delivery of fuel, oil and air. The nitrile rubber liner has highly oil and fuel-resistant properties and tensile strength, whilst polyester and steel braid reinforcements offer resistance to pressure, abrasion and degradation.
Our NBR hydraulic, oil and fuel hoses include both high strength synthetic piles and steel wire spirals, making them suitable for pressures up to 20 bar. These NBR lined hoses offer reliability in heavy duty applications including aircraft refuelling, ship to shore loading, fuel loading and oil delivery / reeling and can be manufactured with internal dimensions from as little as 5mm to as much as 102mm.
Our hygienic NBR lined hose range, Dairyflex® utilises food grade NBR as it's liner due to its oil resistance. This makes it perfect for the transfer of fatty and oily foodstuffs such as dairy produce, food oil transfer, sauces and more. It's imperative to use only NBR hoses manufactured with FDA approved compounds for foodstuffs applications.
NBR lined rubber hose assemblies find use in a variety of industries and applications, including:
- Industrial: NBR hoses are used to transport a range of chemicals, oils, solvents, and industrial fluids in factories and manufacturing processes.
- Oil and Gas: In the petrochemical industry, NBR hoses can handle the transfer of petroleum products, crude oil, and various chemicals.
- Construction and Civil Engineering: Ideal for use on compressor equipment used to supply pneumatic tools for worksite use
- Food & Beverage: Food quality NBR, using FDA certified compound, are commonly used within the food production industry to convey fatty and oily foodstuffs such as dairy products and sauces.
