What is Polyurethane Tubing?
Polyurethane (PU) tubing is a type of flexible thermoplastic tubing known for its versatility, durability, and wide range of applications. It is made from the polymer polyurethane, which can be formulated into various grades to achieve specific properties. PU tubing is commonly used in industries where a combination of flexibility, toughness, and resistance to abrasion is required.
Flextech offer bespoke and off the shelf polyurethane tubing for pneumatic applications and transfer of liquids, oils, hydrocarbons and solvents. The PU tubes are flexible, lightweight and resistant to chemicals whilst also being free from phthalates so there are no negative effects on human health.
Our polyurethane tubes are manufactured using a high precise, active calibration process for excellent dimensional accuracy throughout the length of the tube, even if the tube is coiled in diameters as tight at 76mm. This accuracy combined with a very smooth inner and outer texture provides a very low friction factor so even dry media can be transferred through the tubing. This means PU tubing can be used in assembly lines, packaging and transferring fluids and liquids under pressure.
Flextech’s PU tubing is fully customisable, with a choice of internal sizes from 4mm to 12mm and a variety of colours including green, red, blue, yellow, black and completely transparent. Our PU tubing can be provided in straight lengths for maximum performance or springy coils to prevent tangling and twisting. We supply PU hosing in coil lengths.
