What are SBR lined rubber hose assemblies?
SBR (Styrene Butadiene Rubber) lined rubber hoses and hose assemblies are commonly used in a wide range of industrial applications for the transportation of liquids, and sometimes gases. These hoses are known for their durability, flexibility, and resistance to a variety of chemicals, weathering, and abrasion, hallmarks of a typical industrial rubber hose solution.
SBR is a synthetic rubber that is created through the polymerization of styrene and butadiene monomers. It combines the properties of both materials to provide a balance of strength, flexibility, and chemical resistance. SBR is used as the inner layer of the hose, providing protection against the conveyed fluid.
SBR lined rubber hoses find applications in various industries, including:
- Water suction & delivery
- Compressed air supply
- Conveying gaseous media used in welding applications such as oxygen and acetylene
- Suction & delivery of abrasive media such as concrete, plaster and sand (for shotblasting)
